“The Sunset Pier” by Lemony W.

A serene, seashore night

A pier lit by colorful light

Sounds of laughter and delight

What a pleasant, peaceful sight.

The waves roll slowly across the shore

And through the sky you may soar

On a ferris wheel, on a ride you may adore,

You see the sky, the sunset, their splendor.

Some gaze up at the night sky

Some stroll across the pier, looking at all the games to try

Some walk right by

Some cannot decide what catches their eye.

The silent splendor of the night

The disappearing golden light

What sights to see, on the left and on the right,

The poems that you can write

About the beautiful night.

“The Life of a Snail” by Lemony W.

Be patient, this is your world.

You do not own the world, but those who do will not push you around.

Be observant, vigilant, sharp.

You may be small, but you are durable, determined, defiant.

Be unafraid–

Predators may peck at you, but you are smarter than them.

Perhaps you are not fast,

perhaps you do not rule the world,

perhaps seasons will have passed without you having done much,

perhaps you are the predator, not the prey

But you are endurant.

You are a snail.
