Chapter I
The Woods
Somewhere in the woods, a teenage girl hopped from fallen log to fallen log. She had long, messy blonde hair with two buns on each side of her head. She grabbed a fallen tree branch and pretended to fight someone with it.
“Take that!” she said, while jabbing the air with the stick.
She started hitting a small tree after that, which eventually made her small stick break, which didn’t really affect her that much. She threw the broken stick to the ground and jumped on it.
“Elizia! That is no way to treat nature! Stop that this instant!” said an old man with a frown on his face.
He also had pointy ears, meaning he was an elf. He was not at all happy with what Elizia was doing. She was jumping on a stick, a disgraceful thing for any forest elf to do. She then realized how sacrilegious what she was doing actually was. She grabbed the stick and apologized to it gracefully. The old man nodded in approval, yet was still furious at what she had done.
“I’m sorry, Elder Jaconis, I got carried away when I was fooling around. I should have never done that terrible things” she said, with sad puppy eyes.
He gave her a cold stare and walked away. She made such a fool of herself in front of the Elder. She really was going to be in trouble now. It’s quite often that the Elder gets angry at her, but he usually never gets this mad at her. If he was a magma elf, he would have burned the whole forest and village down, which would not be a good thing for all of the villagers. She just ignored it and walked through a fallen log passageway to the village. The forest elf village was beautiful. It had flowers and plants growing everywhere, small wooden houses were built in small plots of land, forest elf children played in the small wooden park. It was Elizia’s home. It was where she grew up.
“Home sweet home,” she said, grinning widely.
Elizia walked over to a small building with elven writing engraved on the top. It read “Cafe Funio.” She opened the door and greeted the woman inside.
“Hey Reyla! Can I have a wildberry cream mocha please?” Elizia asked the woman.
Reyla smiled and nodded. She immediately got to work making Elizia’s drink. Within fifteen minutes, Elizia’s drink was completed. She grabbed her drink and threw some wooden coins at Reyla, which she caught. Those coins were the currency of the forest elves.
“Have a good day, Elizia!” Reyla said to Elizia, with a smile.
Elizia walked off back to a small house near the park, where she opened the door and smiled. Her father had been playing with the small wooden ball Elizia made him for Harvest Day the past year. He was throwing the ball up then catching it when it fell.
“Hey, Dad! Are you enjoying the ball I made you?” she asked her father.
He smiled at her and continued to catch the ball. She walked to her bedroom, where she watered her plants and folded her clothes. Once she finished that, she got onto her bed and started to read a book. She read for hours on end, and eventually she fell asleep. Her father saw her asleep and put a blanket over her and turned out the lights.
